Mesa Air Group plans to order up to 10 Embraer 195s, chairman and CEO
Jonathan Ornstein reveals.
In an interview with ATI, Ornstein said the company will buy “eight to 10
units” for its new Hawaiian inter-island startup Go.
He says Mesa wants to order the aircraft “sooner rather than later”, but
declines to specify an exact timeframe.
In an exclusive interview with ATI on April 10, Ornstein revealed that
Mesa is close to finalizing the E-195 order for Go. He later said, during
an earnings conference call, that Go could be operating E-195s in a year
or two after its June 9 launch.
Go will initially connect Hilo, Honolulu, Kona, Lihue and Maui with at
least five Bombardier CRJ200s previously operated by now defunct
Independence Air.
